Summer Program 2023
For one week in the mornings, Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 1:00 pm, children ages 6 -12 gather with CAAA instructors and teenage mentors, to collaborate on eclectic song repertoire, dance, theater, and art projects that reflect the essence of Cape Ann. Excursions to nearby sites and visits with local personalities are included in the activities. All is shared in a culminating performance on the final day.
Activities are based at the very welcoming St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 48 Middle St. in the heart of Gloucester, MA, walking distance from many local sites, which in the past have included City Hall, the Carillon Tower of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Cape Ann Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Schooner Adventure, and the statues along Stacy Boulevahd!

2023 Theme: Gloucester 400+
Settling on a theme each year is always an exciting challenge! - there are SO many choices!
Top choice for 2023? Gloucester 400+. We’re picking up on the celebratory vibe this year, even partnering with the Gloucester 400+ organization, so we’re well-connected with the source! There’s no shortage of material - not just 400 years, but 10,000 years-worth! Each day we’ll work on song and dance repertoire, art and scenery projects, learn about colorful local personalities and historic events to reenact. Even when we’re on an excursion, we’ll find time for song and dance! That’s the fun of it! And, don’t worry…we won’t forget SNACK time!
