Cape Ann Arts Alive Singers

For the past few years some of our summer participants have performed as the “Cape Ann Arts Alive Singers”

in events beyond the Summer Program, such as the annual Schooner Festival in September and the Middle Street Walk in December,

and last year at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, with jazz pianist David Benoit’s Charlie Brown Christmas Concert .

We love performing out in the community, and getting together with CAAA friends in the fall and winter months!

And now, there is an especially exciting development that CAAA singers have helped to inspire -

a new regional chorus for all Cape Ann kids who love to singm from Rockport, Gloucester, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea.

The Cape Ann Youth Chorus at Rockport Music

directed by Kristina Martin and Thom Smoker.

is the latest offering of the Rockport Music Education Program at the Shalin Liu Performance Center.

More information about chorus is available at rockportmusic.org.

For those interested in the new chorus, we highly recommend spending a week with Cape Ann Arts Alive in August,

to get a feel for the challenge, the camaraderie , and the fun of singing with like-minded peers in a choral ensemble.

Please email Kristina Martin for more information, ideas, question about either organization.

The Singers are growing!

Our longer-range goal is to expand our reach in the form of a year-round Cape Ann children’s chorus that will not only provide participants the musical and social discipline required of a performance ensemble, but also the thrill and fulfillment of contributing to their community in a joyous, meaningful way, even at a young age.  We have witnessed the inspiring effect of children’s voices time and time again. We believe that a Cape Ann children’s chorus could proudly join the ranks of regional children’s choruses across the state.

Do you know a child who would like to join the CAAA Singers?
