Cape Ann Arts Alive Singers
In this celebration year for Gloucester, we are assembling a group of youth singers to be a part of festivities. We have partnered with the Gloucester 400+ organization, anticipating performances at the annual Schooner Festival in September, the Middle Street Walk in December, and others.
With consideration of families’ busy schedules, we anticipate preparing an eclectic song repertoire appropriate for any event. Learning will begin in the Summer Program. A discrete series of rehearsals will be scheduled before a performance, along with sheet music and practice recordings to support independent learning. Singers would not be required to attend every event, but would need to commit to particular dates in advance, to ensure enough singers for strong performance on each occasion.
We are building something exciting!
Our longer-range goal is to expand our reach in the form of a year-round Cape Ann children’s chorus that will not only provide participants the musical and social discipline required of a performance ensemble, but also the thrill and fulfillment of contributing to their community in a joyous, meaningful way, even at a young age. We have witnessed the inspiring effect of children’s voices time and time again. And we believe that a Cape Ann children’s chorus could quite proudly join the ranks of regional children’s choruses across the state.
